Once we settled into our campsite this morning, we just couldn't wait to see our first local attraction. Since we didn't have the whole day for sightseeing, we picked Custer State Park because it had lots of drivable options. We figured that it wouldn't take as long as some of the other sights.
What a strong start to our visit! Custer State Park was so much fun!! It was a beautiful drive, and we were so lucky to see lots of animals. There were prairie dogs everywhere, but you had to look carefully. They camouflage well if you're not vigilant.
We also got stuck in a "traffic jam" while touring the park, surrounded by dozens of bison.
And just as we thought we were leaving, we found a side road marked as a point of interest. So we decided to check it, and boy, are we glad we did! The overview was stunning!
If all the other tourist attractions are this good, we are going to have an amazing time!
